Random matching means you cannot pre-screen your match. The safety design has to compensate: skip must be the primary action, always visible, reachable in one tap. On SparkCam, skip is never behind a confirmation dialog or a sub-menu. If a match feels wrong in the first few seconds, leave �?you do not owe anyone an explanation in a platform built around anonymous random matching.
Anonymous defaults mean SparkCam is designed so that your name, photo, or profile is not visible to your match unless you choose to share them. Your browser's WebRTC connection may expose your approximate IP region to the peer �?that is a WebRTC protocol limitation, not a platform-specific setting. The practical rule, which the Electronic Frontier Foundation's digital privacy guidance consistently recommends, is to assume that anything shared online can be retained or forwarded. That means: do not share your full name, phone number, social handles, home city, or workplace in video chat with strangers, regardless of how the conversation is going. Anonymity protects your starting position �?it does not protect what you voluntarily disclose.
Skip ends the session immediately �?you do not need to report to leave. Report when behaviour was clearly abusive, involved unsolicited explicit content, or appears to be a bot or scammer. If a match attempts to move the conversation to an external platform quickly, asks for money or gift cards, or requests compromising photos, treat these as high-risk signals and end the session. Never share explicit content, even on platforms described as anonymous. Anonymous means anonymous to other users, not immune to screenshot or screen-recording at the device level. SparkCam uses peer-to-peer WebRTC for live sessions �?the video stream routes directly between the two matched users rather than passing through a central server. Not through SparkCam directly, as long as you do not share identifying details during the chat. As noted above, WebRTC does expose some IP region data at the protocol level. Avoid showing your surroundings in detail, sharing social handles, or mentioning your location or employer in early matches.
Phone number, home address, full legal name, workplace, financial details, or any social media handle that ties back to your real identity.
